YARD WASTE MUST BE IN CLEAR TRASH BAGS OR CLEARLY MARKED CONTAINERS, IF THEY ARE IN BLACK BAGS THEY WILL NOT BE COLLECTED!!!
As Many of you are aware Waste Management has been delivering 96 Gallon garbage containers to each property in the Town. If you have not received yours yet, you will receive it before the end of January. These containers must be used in place of your current garbage containers. Inside each container is a notice which also states that beginning February 1, 2013 Waste Management will now collect your garbage, recycling and yard waste all every Thursday. This container also contains the new customer service phone number which has been dedicated specifically for Elsmere residents. You should continue to put your garbage out on Thursdays with your recycling and yard waste every other wednesday through the remainder of January 2013.
BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1st RECYCLING, GARBAGE and YARD WASTE WILL ALL BE PICKED UP EVERY THURSDAY!

Q: What do you do if you have more trash than will fit in one container?
A: You are permitted to use an additional container in the event that your newly issued container is full, this will be at no additional cost as long as the additional waste is not considered to be a bulk item.
Q: The notice says that you have to pay for Bulk Waste, what is classified as bulk waste?
A: “Bulk Waste” is considered to be items too large for regular pick up or an excessive amount of trash exceeding what could be considered a normal amount for each household. (Example: you would need a bulk waste pick up for furniture, appliances, carpeting, construction materials and if for some reason you have enough garbage to fill more than 3 garbage containers. These pick-ups must be scheduled through waste management and have an additional cost which is charged to you the resident.)
